Maintenance Tips for Electric Pruning Shears-1: Cleaning and Lubrication

Jul 17,2024 | Kebtek Store

Electric pruning shears are incredibly convenient tools, but without proper daily maintenance and regular care, they can become damaged or have a reduced lifespan. Here are some recommendations for blade cleaning both before and after use.

Caution: Always turn off the tool and remove the battery pack before inspecting or maintaining it.

Caution: Wear safety gloves when handling the cutting blades to avoid injury.

Note: Failure to maintain the blades may result in excessive friction and shorten the operating time per battery charge.

Lubrication

Before the operation or once per hour during operation, apply low-viscosity oil (machine oil, or spray-type lubricating oil) to the shear blades. After operation, remove dust from both sides of the blade, wipe it off with a rag and then apply low-viscosity oil to the blades.

Warmly Tips: Many trees do not like mineral oil. Pruning saws and pruners are recommended to use biodegradable oil. Treat trees with respect, proper care and love.
Here are two main ways to lubricating the electric pruner's blade:
1.Press the tip of the oil bottle downwards onto the lubricating oil hole and add oil from the lubricating oil hole.
Most of Kebtek electric pruners designed with lubricating oil hole.
Some models'design don't have lubricating oil hole. Such as : KT940, B06640.
You could apply lubricating oil to the joint between the blade and the blade fixing screw.

Post-Operation Cleaning

After use, clean the cutting blades with a wire brush to remove dust and burrs. Wipe the blades with a cloth and then apply low-viscosity oil (such as machine oil or spray lubricant).

Maintaining your electric pruning shears with these simple steps will help ensure their longevity and optimal performance. Regular cleaning and lubrication are key to keeping your tool in top condition, ready for the next task.
