Description

Double-sided Whetstone Usage Instructions

  1. Silver tungsten steel side (initial sharpening): Hold the blade at 20–30°; sharpen both sides with steady strokes (10–15 times per side).
  2. Milky white silicon oxide side (fine honing): Keep the same angle; hone both sides gently (5–8 times per side).

Important Notes

  1. Always maintain a consistent 20–30° angle during sharpening to avoid damaging the blade edge.
  2. Do not press too hard on the stone—let the whetstone’s material do the work to prevent surface cracking.
  3. For dry-use whetstones, skip soaking; oil stones require a small amount of sharpening oil instead of water.
  4. Keep the whetstone away from high temperatures and direct sunlight to prevent deformation.
  5. After use, dry the stone completely before storing to avoid mold or rust.
  6. Wear protective gloves if necessary to prevent accidental cuts from the sharpened blade.
