Double-sided Whetstone Usage Instructions
- Silver tungsten steel side (initial sharpening): Hold the blade at 20–30°; sharpen both sides with steady strokes (10–15 times per side).
- Milky white silicon oxide side (fine honing): Keep the same angle; hone both sides gently (5–8 times per side).
Important Notes
- Always maintain a consistent 20–30° angle during sharpening to avoid damaging the blade edge.
- Do not press too hard on the stone—let the whetstone’s material do the work to prevent surface cracking.
- For dry-use whetstones, skip soaking; oil stones require a small amount of sharpening oil instead of water.
- Keep the whetstone away from high temperatures and direct sunlight to prevent deformation.
- After use, dry the stone completely before storing to avoid mold or rust.
- Wear protective gloves if necessary to prevent accidental cuts from the sharpened blade.
